Best to phone them and make reservations or find out when reservations can be made.
Not sure sorry. Could call and ask them they are very friendly. Cheers.
Yes they do... some dishes are served with peanuts or peanut sauce.
First time getting takeout from Blue Willow.I've eaten sweet & sour pork since I was a small westernized-Cantonese child. And even dripping in that familiar overly sweet delicious sauce, you cannot hide the pungent earthy taste of veggies gone bad (it was only the peppers btw).As a student, not a great time having to throw out the whole thing cus I got sick. Really disappointed. But two stars since the other items I ordered were just fine.
The food here is not bad to be honest, but be careful of what is inside of your dish. The waiting time is very long, even there is not too much customers.
We have been coming to the Blue Willow for years now and this is the only time we have experienced our food not being so hot. Also Lemon Chicken could have used more sauce. Special Chowmein didn't have as many shrimp in it that it usually does. But overall we really enjoy coming to The Blue Willow and will continue coming. Thsnk You.
We had an amazing dinner. It was my mother in law's birthday and they gave us a table in a quiet area. The food and service was fantastic and the birthday girl was thrilled with her piece of cake and birthday revelers. Thank you.
Honestly, the only thing that makes me order from here all the time is the sexy delivery guy! We ordered here for a new year's eve party today and dam, it didn't even come to mind what a big load he could carry. Wish he joined us for some body shots!
I pass Blue Willow every night as its on my way home. I decided to treat myself so I ordered a deluxe dinner for 2 on Tuesday evening at 8:45. The food quality was horrible. I will never recommend Blue Willow to anyone. What a waste of $53. The sauces were weird, I spat out the brown gravy which I was assuming went with the awful tinfoil chicken pack. The rice was hard and old. The shrimp was so old and dried up. The peas and beef were mushy with no flavour. I am beyond disappointed and would never recommend Blue Willow to anyone.
Excellent Chinese, very tasty!
This place used to be the best in Edmonton, but now is about par with food court Chinese. I used to come here all the time, but won't ever be back. The current management needs to return to the ways of the founder. He would never have put up with this. The place was nearly empty. Isn't that a sign to them? They cut corners on the quality of the food. Cut corners = cut customers. Cutting corners has eliminated ME as a customer. I will never be back.
Great food and service, but can be pricey.
Great meal and service.
Food was good and service was very good.
Our families main restaurant to visit when we all meet from out of town. For years we had the food delivered to our grandparents condo on the west end. Now we go in to dine. Will always be a favourite. Delicious food.
There's a reason this restaurant has stayed open so long. Fantastic food, great service, & cleanliness complimented the meal. We both reccomend a crispy egg roll to start the fun.
Very friendly service. Owner came to visit with our group several times. Chef made my son a special item not on menu, good food and a unique atmosphere.
Great menu, authentic stuff is really good. Only 3 stars cuz my favorite thingnin the menu is never cooked well, Ginger beef, always mushy with the beading falling off. Very good sauce though!! Green onion cakes are sometimes over cooked but I keep coming back so.
Loved coming here. Always a great treat. Used to be a family XMas treat, wasn't quite up to par but none the less. It was delicious, absolutely yummy. The young girl was attentive, kept a smile on her face, even though my nephews made a huge mess. Stan is awesome, great family place or the casual dinner date.
This restaurant has been around for more than 70 years. Lots of hockey stars had dinner here with the restaurant owner. Service is very detail and friendly. As a Chinese, I will bring my colleagues here for lunch and dinner. Reasonable price. The best place in town for Western style Chinese food.
Gave this restaurant one star because I could not give it less! 7 o'clock reservations on a Friday night and NO ONE else was in the restaurant PLUS it smells unclean was the harbinger of things to come. We had 3 people waiting on us and the service was still bad. Had long periods of time when there was just no one about and had to go call and look for someone to pay the bill. The wine was warm. We ordered garlic shrimp, Blue Willow special chop suey and pineapple chicken and except for the shrimp were unable to tell the three dishes apart. Asked for the leftovers to go and they packaged them but did not include the shrimp...removed them? Ate them? Who knows! 115.00 later - lesson learned! I read that they have been in business 70 years. Will be a miracle of they make it another year unless take out keeps them going.
High quality food and personal service. Top recommended.
Ginger Beef, Shrimp with blackbean sauce are amazing - Best green onion cakes too.
Worst food we have ever eaten. The mongolian beef was the exact same as beef and vegetables a whole lot of celery and onion and very little tasteless beef. The pineapple chicken was tough. The garlic ribs were fatty thus greasy. The rice was dry and Finally the egg roll was overpowered by the chinese 5 spice. It was a astronomical $90 and it landed in the garbage - not at all edible!!
Always enjoy coming here! Food is fantastic and the service is always great. When you are coming make sure you set yourself up to wait a bit as they cook the food fresh so it takes a bit. Price per item is a bit higher but easily comparable to similar restaurants.
Excellent service by Jacob..and Stan......This I the Best Chinese Cuisine in Edmonton....Have been going for years.....will continue for years...Always a warm intimate crowd of appreciative people there when we go..lots of regular clientele....Five stars always......
The food and service at this restaurant is always sensational. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting amazing chinese food. Stan and his team have been great for many years
The food is amazing
Owner always welcoming and you can feel the 61 years of experience in the food etc.
A venerable Edmonton restaurant, the food was excellent, and the service hospitable. While a little noisy, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming with several families filling the restaurant. A plus was the nice desert offered complimentary at the end of the meal for my mother's birthday. And as always the spinning warm towels ended the evening.
Great service, but the amount you get is a complete ripoff. Go here only IF you want to pay for over priced food.
Cai is hot. Makes good food. I LOVE her. And they have a sexy delivery guy. ;)
Clean very friendly staff great food
The food is top notch and the service is excellent. The food is better than anything I had in China last year. Will visit this restaurant regularly.
It's cozy, the service is good. The hot & sour soup is excellent.
Amazing place, amazing people, amazing food. Highly recommended!
Good, traditional style Chinese food!! Great service, very good food. Lots of choices. You won't be disappointed!
Food is amazing!! Had my eye on the delivery guy for awhile. He brings me food but never his love, always comes on time😘
Very disappointed in the food here. Wor wonton soup was ok pretty flavourless wonton dough was orange in spots (very unappealing), green onion cakes were doughy. Couldn’t even eat the chow mein I ordered, literally tasted like I was eating bags of salt. Outrageously salty with no other flavour at all and no sauce which I specifically asked for and made sure was included. Never been so disappointed in food like this. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Over $30 for stuff that was garbage.
Dinner here was fantastic, the people/persons who work here are excellent! If you have allergies to fish & nuts or anything, they will accommodate. love all the celebrity memories on the wall. we will be back another time for more of the great food! thank you to all the great people that make this place great!
Their food servings is really huge!!! We weren't expecting that their bowl of soup was that big, that we had to take some home. Even their "dinner for one" fed our two children enough, and we still had to take some home. Friendly staff too, and very good service!!! Highly recommended!!!
A nice quiet place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The owner takes his time to visit guests ensuring everyone's needs are taken care of. My favorite time to visit is during the month of Chinese New year's (special menu of authentic dishes)
Food is ok but bland for my taste. It is overpriced and tacky.
It was a great experience. The food was superb.
My wifes family has been coming here for years. The grandparents began the tradition and it continues to this day. It is always a pleasant time and over the years the upgrades to the decor is a well received. The food is great and the servers are always pleasant to deal with.
A must-stop if you are visiting Edmonton. Take the relatives for a great Chinese meal. Learn all about the Blue Willow pattern. Great drinks and great food. Served hot at the table. Very nice staff.
Volunteered at taste of Edmonton and food sample is amazing. Why not give it a try? As a former restaurant owner myself, I am highly dissatisfied with the amount I was given. Small sized take out that costed me over $50 (average plate costed $14). My entire order should have been worth $30. They put the food in these damn soup containers. As a former family owned restaurant business, my goal is to give out food portions so that the take out containers is full to the max. Fill up people orders as they have food on the table. Despite a locally owned business for blue willows, I will not go back there again.......and ever be the same, again
I used to come here all the time with my parents and the service was great and the food was good. However the last few times my boyfriend and I have gone alone. Yesterday we sat there for 25 minutes before having to tell someone we haven't been served yet, no water or anything! We even had a reservation.... After that the service was still minimal- then both of the meat dishes we ordered were cold and chewy in the worst ways. Probably won't visit again.
Real good food and acceptable service.
Wonton soup was cold, ribs tasted old and the rice was flavorless. Service was average. I would not go back.
Very cozy, calm environment. Staff were very friendly, and food was delicious. Would very much recommend.
Well we started out going to the Lingnan but we were turned away because we didn’t have a reservation so what to do.. Thought let’s give the Blue Willow a go. Haven’t been there in a long long time. Well we were in for a treat. Very distinctively flavourful dishes. We tried the ginger beef, boneless pork & veggies, shrimp, special fried rice, special egg foo yung & the gai lan. Needless to say a lot of take home to enjoy. Great friendly service as well. Will definitely be back.
Disappointed... the egg foo young was greasy and burnt, I ended up throwing it out. I used to really like the food from this restaraunt: not any more.
